Visa Requirements

A visa-free regime for citizens of 57 countries was re-established for up to 30 days to enter-exit and stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Holders of passports from countries not on the list of 57 should check with an Embassy or Consulate Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan to see what kind of visa they need for a specific period of stay, as citizens of some countries can enjoy a visa-free regime for less than 30 days.

Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of India enter the Republic of Kazakhstan and leave the Republic of Kazakhstan without visas, if the period of their stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed fourteen calendar days from the moment of crossing the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for a total of forty-two calendar days in during each period of one hundred and eighty calendar days.

From November 10, 2023, citizens of the People's Republic of China are exempt from visa requirements for the purposes of private business, tourism, treatment, international transportation, transit, as well as business purposes (conclusion of contracts, negotiations, provision of consulting services and other business purposes) for entry, exit, and transit through the Republic of Kazakhstan for a period not exceeding 30 calendar days, in total 90 calendar days within 180 calendar days.

Saudi Arabia

Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. Travel documents must be machine readable for entry.

E-visa must be obtained prior to departure on the website, there must be an e-visa confirmation for entry into Saudi Arabia.

Minors under 1 year of age with their own passport (parent must have a Saudi Arabia-issued residence permit) can obtain a visa on arrival if traveling with one parent.

Check-in for flights to/from Jeddah (JED) closes one hour before departure. It is therefore recommended to arrive at the airport three hours prior to check-in for security check procedures.

Pilgrim visas are accepted in Arabic only. Business and visitor visas are bilingual (Arabic/English).

Residence, visit and work visas issued by Saudi Arabian representatives in Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, India, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates or Yemen are no longer presented in sticker format in passports. They have been replaced by A4 paper containing a QR code with the passenger's visa information.

As of August 20, 2023, travelers from the US, UK, various European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Brunei and China can now obtain UMRAH visas upon arrival in the country.

Passengers arriving from Iran and who have been in Iran within the last 14 days are not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia.

Passengers with a visitor visa must have medical insurance to cover Covid-19 related expenses.

Travel documents with manually extended validity are not accepted.

Passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian if receiving a visa on arrival.

Passengers with UMRAH visa can enter until May 24, 2024 and must depart Saudi Arabia by June 6, 2024.

Passengers with a Hajj visa must have a Covid-19 vaccination certificate confirming that they have been fully vaccinated (passengers under 12 years of age are exempt).

The following vaccines are accepted for Hajj passengers: Astrazeneca (vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (spikevax), Nuvaxovid (novavax), Pfizer-biontech (comirnaty), Sinopharm (bibp), Sinovac, Sputnik.

When transporting Zam-Zam water, not more than 5 liters per passenger is allowed, the water must be packed in a special package, and the container must be strong enough and tightly closed in order to avoid water leaking in the baggage compartment and causing a problem with the technical side of the aircraft. Zam-Zam water must not be placed in the check-in baggage and must be checked separately. The package should be marked to make it easier to recognize it on the baggage carousel after arrival. Water can be carried free of charge in addition to the applicable baggage allowance.

UAE

China

India

Starting from December 6, 2022, the possibility of obtaining an electronic visa for citizens of Kazakhstan has been restored at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.

Electronic tourist visa, electronic business visa, electronic medical visa, electronic medical visa for attendants and electronic visa for conference participants are available for obtaining on the website in the electronic visa category.

For other visa categories, you can apply at the counters of the Indian Embassy in Astana or the Indian Mission in Almaty.

PCR Test

It is recommended to have a certificate with a negative PCR result 72 hours before departure, but passengers are not required to provide it to the airline.

Additional Information

On arrival, 2% of the passengers on each flight may be selectively asked to take a coronavirus test by the Indian authorities.

De-boarding will be done ensuring physical distancing.

Thermal screening will be done in respect of all the passengers by the health officials present on arrival.

The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated and taken to a designated medical facility as per health protocol.

All travelers should self-monitor their health post arrival also shall report to their nearest health facility or call the National helpline number (1075) / State Helpline Number in case they have any symptoms suggestive.

Korea

Additional Information

Passengers arriving from Kazakhstan can use visa-free short-term entrance (30 days). However, passengers must receive a K-ETA visa. Apply online here. Passengers should apply K-ETA at least 72 hours before departure. Passengers 17 years of age or younger and passengers 65 years of age or older do not need K-ETA to enter Korea.

Passengers with diplomatic and official passports are exempt from K-ETA for entry into Korea.

Maldives

Thailand

Starting from January 10, 2023, Thailand's entry requirements were updated, thus:

  • Passengers arriving to Thailand from foreign countries are no longer required to provide a certificate of vaccination.
  • Passenger from country that has requirements which may prevent passenger to go back due to Covid-19 shall be required to have health insurance covering treatment of Covid-19 for the itineraries in Thailand plus 7 days. Those with business arrangement, including flight crew, may have a letter from the host to cover such need.
  • Thai passport holding passengers are excepted from health insurance requirements.
  • Transit/transfer passengers are excepted from health insurance requirements. These passengers are subject to measures at the destination.

Due to the facility of the Phuket airport, transit/transfer passengers cannot stay at the airport for more than 8 hours. If the duration of the transit/transfer exceeds 8 hours, passengers and their baggage must be checked-in only in Phuket, and if the passenger does not have a visa to Thailand, he/she is not allowed to check in. Citizens of Kazakhstan need to apply for a visa on arrival to collect baggage and check in again at the departure hall.

Additional Information

From 1 March to 31 August 2024, on a temporary basis, Kazakhstani passport holders (or holders of travel documents from these countries) are exempted from visa requirements to enter and stay in the Kingdom of Thailand for a period not exceeding 30 days.

Prior to departure, passengers are strongly advised to have the following documents to enter Thailand:

  • Valid Thai visa or passport allowing visa-free entry;
  • Hotel reservation for the duration of the stay;
  • Return ticket.

Passengers departing from 42 countries with cases of yellow fever must present before departure:

  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate;
  • Registering and getting a Thai Pass on the website.
