For Flight Awards, the points requirements shown are for return trip travel. However, you can redeem a one-way award for half of the points shown in the table. You can also combine half of a Business Class award with half of an Economy Class award. We make point redemption flexible so that you can tailor your award travel to your individual circumstances.
For Upgrade Awards, the requirements shown are for one-way travel. You must have a confirmed and ticketed reservation in an eligible booking class before applying for an Upgrade Award.
Award Redemption Procedure:
Flight Awards
- Check your account balance to ensure you have sufficient points for the award of your choice.
- Contact the Air Astana Call Centre or a local Air Astana Sales Office to make a Flight Award booking. You may make a Flight Award booking up to three (3) working days prior to the date of your desired departure. Travel agents cannot book Nomad Club awards.
- An Air Astana Call Centre agent will advise you of the date and location of ticket pickup.
- Please present your passport at the time of ticket pickup. Applicable taxes and fees must be paid at the time of ticketing.
Upgrade Awards
- Check your account balance to ensure you have sufficient points for the award of your choice.
- Purchase Air Astana Economy Class ticket in the eligible booking class.
- Contact the Air Astana Call Centre or a local Air Astana Sales Office to make an Upgrade Award booking. You may make an Upgrade Award booking up to 3 (three) working days prior to the date of your departure.
- Call Centre agents will advise you when your upgrade request will be confirmed and whether you will need to visit a ticketing office for ticket re-issue prior to your travel date.
There are no blackout periods for award travel, but award seats are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Being flexible with your travel dates also increases the probability of finding award seats to the destination of your choice.
Last Minute Upgrade
If you are unable to book Business Class outright or arrange an upgrade in advance, you can now redeem your Nomad Club points for a Last Minute Upgrade right at the check-in desk. Moreover, you can get access to business lounges around the world.
Things to remember:
- Nomad Club points will be accrued to the member on the basis of the originally booked Economy Class ticket;
- Last Minute Upgrade is available at all Air Astana stations except Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Urumqi;
- Last Minute Upgrade award cannot be transferred to a third party or another person;
- Nomad Club cannot guarantee or provide personal Business class amenity kits or Business class meals;
- Last Minute Upgrade can only be issued one way and as such is non-refundable after the flown flight;
- Last Minute Upgrade will apply to those members travelling single under one passenger name record;
- After upgrade, baggage allowance and passenger lounge access will apply.
- Air Astana reserves the right to limit availability of
seats for Last Minute Upgrade.
