Airline Partners

Among the closest forms of cooperation between Air Astana and partner airlines are codeshare agreements, wherein our flight numbers are applied to their services. This type of partnership expands your options, offering increased frequency and a broader range of destinations as part of the Air Astana product offerings. The convenience of a single ticketing process allows access to multiple flight options under favorable conditions, ensuring seamless baggage transport to the final destination.  

Identifying codeshare partners is straightforward - if your flight number begins with KC, you can earn miles on the flight. Just remember to enter your Nomad Club membership number when you book to claim your miles. Keep in mind that when flying on a codeshare flight operated by our partner, the operating carrier's conditions of carriage apply (e.g. baggage allowance). The primary agreement between airlines is the interline agreement, allowing the issuance of a single ticket for a passenger's entire journey, consisting of flight portions with both Air Astana and interline partner airlines. With such a ticket, our passengers gain access to a broader network of interconnected airline flights. 

For journeys involving multiple flight segments under interline agreements, baggage check-in to the final destination is allowed, eliminating the need for passengers to pick up and re-check their baggage at transfer points. However, passengers must check-in for the next flight of the partner airline at the arrival airport. 

When using separate tickets, Air Astana will not through-check passengers and baggage to the final destinations specified on the secondary ticket. If the passenger possesses a second ticket on another airline beyond the destination of the first ticket, Air Astana will check passengers and baggage to the first ticketed destination. In such cases, passengers must collect their baggage at the first ticketed destination, and then re-check it with the next carrier after the immigration process, if applicable. 

It is important to note that with this separate ticket policy, Air Astana assumes no responsibility for mishandling or misconnecting flights beyond our operating flight from origin to destination as reflected on Air Astana's ticket. This policy applies to all inbound and outbound travel. 

* Through check-in of passengers is not available for International arrivals into India, connecting with domestic flights of Air India within India. In such an instance, the passenger’s baggage is checked to the international arrival airport only. 

** Cooperation with the FlexFlight railway transport operator allows passengers to travel by air on the flights of our airline and then follow trains within the route network of Deutsche Bahn within the framework of one transportation document, while baggage is checked in only to the airport on the passenger's route. 

*** Passenger and baggage through check-in are not allowed for the passenger’s planned journey on an Air Astana flight, plus a subsequent Thai Airways domestic flight (and vice versa). 

**** Baggage through check-in is not available on domestic flights in India. 

Interline through check-in agreements represent another joint arrangement among partner airlines. When a passenger's journey includes both an Air Astana flight and a flight with one of the following partner airlines, passengers and their baggage can be checked through to their intended final destination. 

To facilitate through check-in, it is important that the entire journey, including both Air Astana and partner airline flights, is issued on a single itinerary and the time of stay at the transfer point does not exceed 24 hours. Please note that check-in for a partner airline's flight is permissible only when the first leg of an international flight is operated by Air Astana. 

* Through check-in is not available at Lampang (LPT) and Sukhothai (THS) airports. 

** Passenger and baggage through check-in is not allowed for an Air Astana domestic flight, plus a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight (and vice versa) from Almaty. 

*** Passenger and baggage through check-in are not allowed for a passenger’s planned journey on an Air Astana flight, plus a subsequent Thai Airways domestic flight (and vice versa).  

**** Baggage through check-in is not available on domestic flights in India.
