Special Services for Young Travellers

Our dedication to ensuring a comfortable and secure travel experience extends to passengers of all ages, with a special emphasis on our youngest travellers. We have tailored special services specifically for children and unaccompanied minors, along with offering exclusive discounts for both child and infant passengers. This page provides comprehensive details about our pricing policy for children and outlines the specific services available for infants and young individuals travelling alone. When travelling with children, please remember that they need to be accompanied by an adult and seated in the same cabin, whether it is business or economy. For safety reasons, one adult can look after up to 14 children at once.

Infants under 2 years of age share a seat with an accompanying adult aged 18 years or older for the duration of the flight.

If they have no allocated seat:

on domestic flights within Kazakhstan and on international flights to/from Kazakhstan, infants travel free of charge (e.g., Almaty-Kyzylorda, Almaty-Delhi or Almaty-Astana-London);
on international flights between foreign countries through Kazakhstan, infants receive a 90% discount off the full adult fare (e.g., Frankfurt-Astana-Tashkent);
on international flights under existing partnership agreements with partner airlines, infants receive a 90% discount off the full adult fare (e.g., Almaty-Istanbul operated by Turkish Airlines).

If they are travelling with an allocated seat:

on domestic flights within Kazakhstan and on international flights to/from Kazakhstan, infants receive a 50% discount off the full adult fare (e.g., Almaty-Kyzylorda, Almaty-Delhi or Almaty-Astana-London);
on international flights between foreign countries through Kazakhstan, infants receive a 25% discount off the full adult fare (e.g., Frankfurt-Astana-Tashkent);
on international flights under existing partnership agreements with partner airlines, infants receive a 25% discount off the full adult fare (e.g., Almaty-Istanbul operated by Turkish Airlines).

For passengers travelling with infants under 1 year old, we provide complimentary baby bassinets to enhance convenience during the journey. Please see below for more information.

Child Safety Seat

Passengers have the option to bring their own child safety seats for the safety and comfort of their young travellers during our flights.

Child Safety Seat Policy and Procedures

To carry on a child safety seat, passengers must purchase an individual airline ticket at a fixed fare. The seat width should not exceed 41 cm and must be equipped with a fastener for secure attachment to the passenger seat. Certified seats, indicated by a specific mark or label, are required. Please note that the airline does not provide child safety seats.

During boarding, passengers are responsible for transporting the child safety seat to their seat in the cabin. Flight attendants will provide assistance in securing the seat using the available belts, and it should be placed in a window seat.

Please note that online check-in and self-service kiosks are not available for passengers carrying a child safety seat. To make a preliminary request, please contact us at least 24 hours before departure through this link or reach out to our 24-hour Call Centre.

Baby Bassinet Information

This service is provided at no extra cost on specific aircraft types: Airbus 321 NEO LR (Economy and Business Class), Boeing B767 (Economy and Business Class), Airbus A320, and Airbus A321 NEO (Business Class only).

Please note that passengers with infants (under 1 year of age) must purchase a paid seat in the first row of economy or business class if the aircraft allows for a bassinet. To reserve your baby bassinet, please inform your travel agent during flight reservation or contact us directly via this link. Note that baby bassinets may not be available on certain Air Astana aircraft due to fleet configuration. It is advisable to check their availability in advance for your intended flight.
