Batumi is a small resort town that comes to life during the holiday season (May-September), and lives its quiet, provincial life the rest of the year. The city itself may not be a cause of much excitement: a fairly small old centre that can be explored in a couple of hours, Soviet nine-story buildings along the coast and a small "new city" under construction with high-rises – that is all that can be found in Batumi itself. But do not rush to leave, your journey is just beginning!

First, stay in a new concept hotel, for example, in Kartuli (Kartuli Hotel), which is located on the 38th floor of a high-rise building overlooking the beautiful main boulevard with a gorgeous view of the sea!

After a leisurely breakfast, rent a scooter and go for a ride in the old town! Having worked up an appetite have lunch in one of the restaurants on the beach. Or take a picnic with you, and take a taxi to the Batumi Botanical Garden.

Here's where you can spend the whole day and not see even half the beauty of this place! A breathtaking view of the sea from the cliff, a eucalyptus grove, a bamboo forest – these are just the smallest examples of what you will see!

After a couple of days in the city, go to the beach! The beaches are all public in Batumi and you can swim there, but it's better to go to the small cosy town of Ureki – just in a 30-minute drive from Batumi, where there are a lot of family hotels among the pines with access to a black sandy beach (there are pebbles in all other places).

And also, to mix a little business with pleasure, go to a Yoga Retreat – a Yoga trip in which you can appreciate the local beauty and spend some quality time working on your health!

Yoga tours are often held in Batumi almost every month since flights from Kazakhstan are now regular to Batumi and Tbilisi (5 hours by train to Batumi) and Kutaisi (2 hours by taxi) why not try one? And remember: having visited Georgia once, you will feel the desire to come back here again and again…
