Information for Expectant Mothers
Expectant mothers with a pregnancy to 22 weeks are transported without the provision of doctor certificate about the possibility to travel.
Expectant mothers should come at check-in as earlier as possible (preferably to check-in opening time).
Expectant mothers with a pregnancy from 22 weeks until 34 weeks inclusive in singleton pregnancies, and from 22 weeks to 32 weeks inclusive of multiple pregnancy, can be accepted for air carriage only if there is a doctor certificate of medical organizations about pregnancy and good health. For international flights doctor certificate must be translated into foreign language.The validity of the certificate is 30 days.
Expectant mothers with a pregnancy of over 34 weeks in singleton pregnancies, and over 32 weeks with multiple pregnancies are carried on the findings of the Medical Consultative Board or equivalent competence doctor’s comission. Medical assessment must be made on form No. 035-1, or certificate issued by competence doctor’s comission. For international flights doctor certificate must be translated into foreign language, used in the country of departure. The validity of the certificate is 30 days.
In case if Expectant mother has any problems with her health, even at early pregnancy stage, she should better to consult with doctor before travelling by air transport.
Air Astana is eligible to refuse to transport Expectant mother even due to availability of medical certificate, if the delivery date is expected in the nearest 7 calendary days.
New mothers after childbirth and newborn children are not permitted to fly within the first 7 days after birth.
Always, the health of Expectant mother is under liability of herself and the doctor issuing certificate and permitted Expectant mother to travel by air transport.
JSC “Air Astana” is eligible to refuse to transport Expectant mother if it is governed by the requirements of the immigration laws of the country-destination.
