The Shanyraq business lounge has returned to service following a renovation, offering passengers departing on domestic flights with Air Astana a refreshed and comfortable space. The improvements comprise a greater number of seats and upgraded seating areas, complemented by a dedicated workspace where passengers can comfortably conduct business tasks. Guests of the business lounge can enjoy a variety of snacks and beverages in a spacious buffet area, and enjoy modern monitors for news and flight information, along with contemporary furniture for passengers to relax before departure.

The renovation process, spanning from initial concept and design selection to approval and construction, lasted 18 months. The project design, developed by the local design studio Monochrom, outlines principles of functionality, aesthetics, and innovation, derived from national ornaments, Kazakhstan's natural beauty, and the shanyraq - symbol of family. The incorporation of Kazakh ethnic elements enhances the lounge's ambiance, creating a cozy atmosphere for travellers.

"The primary goal of the renovation has been to create a distinctive space where our passengers feel comfortable and can maximize their time in the lounge," stated Tatyana Dzhan, Manager of Ground Services products and Project Manager for The Shanyraq business lounge renovation.

The Shanyraq business lounge is located on the second floor of the domestic departures terminal. It offers amenities exclusively to Air Astana business class passengers and holders of Gold and Diamond Nomad Club cards. Since its opening in 2014, the lounge has been a favored location for pre-flight relaxation, having accommodated approximately 200,000 passengers over its decade of operation.
